Turnstone Ecology have had significant ecological involvement in single turbine and large scale wind farms, biomass projects, nuclear power plants and tidal power schemes throughout the UK and overseas.



We have many years of experience in project management and ecological assessment for major infrastructure developments, ranging from small highways projects to decommisioning power stations. Turnstone Ecology staff have been involved in surveys and mitigation for London Crossrail, Grain LNG terminal and the M6 Toll, and more recently transmission lines in Cheshire and a road scheme in Wrexham.



We specialise in addressing all ecological issues involved with a wide variety of housing and industrial developments. Turnstone Ecology’s experience includes managing and undertaking Great Crested Newt, reptile and Water Vole translocations, Black Redstart surveys and mitigation and Badger sett exclusions to enable developments to proceed successfully and legally.



Turnstone Ecology’s experience and low overheads enable the company to provide professional and competitive research capabilities for a variety of ecological topics. Staff have undertaken research projects for Natural England, RSPB, English Heritage and MOD.
