Providing an assessment of the potential ecological impacts at the first stage of the planning process and prior to any fieldwork taking place. Turnstone Ecology have been involved in pre-planning advice for a variety of projects in the UK and Worldwide, ranging from small private construction projects to large scale wind farms.

Habitat surveys providing an initial assessment of the potential presence of protected species. Turnstone Ecology have completed initial surveys at a range of sites, including small scale commercial and leisure projects, housing developments, highways maintenance and a proposed SPA.

From bat surveys for barn conversions to Great Crested Newt translocations for large scale developments we provide a full range of ecological assessment and surveys for protected species. Turnstone Ecology have recently completed in-depth surveys for Badger, bats, Dormouse, Great Crested Newt and reptiles and subsequent licensing, mitigation and management. We have staff who hold bat Low Impact Class Licences and Bats in Churches Class Licence to suit all projects.
